Morphonix is the new project of Chromatone for Ambient/Psy/Breaks/IDM.
Taking on new mid tempo shapes inspired from projects like Haujob, Autechre, Aphex Twin, Depeche Mode, Download, and others, but with a twist of psy production. Chromatone is Lawrence Ezra Hoffman, a San Francisco native, has been producing electronic music for over a decade. A professional audio consultant, producer, engineer, he is also doing mastering for many labels: Mechanik, Vapor Vent, Peak Rec, Inspyde Media, Mind Funk, plus a growing list of clients. He has also been training in visual arts with the legendary Doctor Spook. Together they produced the Video: "Chromatone - Mightochondria" released on the successful "Magnus" DVD from Geomagnetic.tv As a local favorite in San Francisco, Chromatone is constantly performing at countless events in the U.S. with other top shelf international acts. At Burning Man 2003 Chromatone performed an unprecedented live set in 8-channel surround sound on the massive Sol System. Then again in 2005 at a new venue with surround sound capabilities inspired from his Burning Man set. In summer 2004 Chromatone played the huge Zoom Festival in Zurich and at the legendary Boom Festival with Crazy Lions Cult.
